2018 Estate Viognier

Product Image

Our 2018 viognier harvest was small but mighty, and the result we all agree is beautiful! We brought in a half ton; just enough to fill one barrel, which holds 225 liters. Viognier as a varietal often has savory and tropical characteristics, this year’s Viognier is sensual and exotic, both tropical and perfumey, and also has an inherent savory quality to it.  This opulent wine excites with notes of stone fruit and the tropics, fills the mouth like cream and honey, and finishes with warmth and length that subtly reminds you of butterscotch well after its gone. The bouquet on this wine is so divine that Chanel might even want to bottle it up.Harvested in the morning on September 20, 2018, the grapes were whole cluster pressed, and barrel fermented.  Primary fermentation finished on October 10, it then went through malolactic fermentation, and was bottled on July 24, 2019.  You will find aromas of apricots, honey, vanilla, tropical fruits and teas.  In total, 24 cases were produced.
