2019 Estate Rose of Syrah

Product Image

Before sunup on August 24,2019 we picked the first half of our rose, a ton of Syrah from A Block with 19.5 brix. Using our basket press we gently squeezed the juice from the whole clusters. The must chilled and settled overnight. We then transferred the pale rose juice into experience barrels where we inoculated  with rose yeast from the Bandol region in France. On the morning of August 27, 2019 we picked the second half - a ton of Syrah from S Block, at 18 brix. The process was repeated and by sundown on August 28, our 2019 Rose of Syrah was a go! Malolactic fermentation was subsequently finished in February 2020. The individually finished wines, beautiful in both their respective natures, were blended in perfect harmony to create something even more divine. The resulting product was bottled on April 9, 2020

One look at this wine and your world goes from black and white to technicolor, a beautiful copper hued salmon. The primary characteristics are strawberry and watermelon with secondary undertones of vanilla, citrus zest, and crunchy greens. A bright crisp mouthfeel and smooth long finish. The alcohol is 10.4% by volume, great to enjoy while having a Winnie the Pooh day, counting clouds. Pairs well with just about everything, prosciutto, pizza, bbq, salads, pasta or even Gram’s homemade chili!
